A New Bloggers Perspective on Medium as A Platform

The good, the bad, and the ugly. Spoiler: It’s mostly good

It might be premature of me, giving impressions on Medium as a blogging platform after only six months of writing, but I believe there is value in getting a brand new blogger's perspective.

I am not new to Medium as a platform. I was a paying subscriber for two years before I started to write. And for those two years, I was mainly reading articles about writing and short stories /flash fiction.

I gladly paid 5$ each month for unlimited access to quality writing on a clean platform.

After six months of creating content two times a week (some weeks more, never less) I earn my money back each month, and then some.

Here are my personal thoughts about Medium as a blogging platform, seen from a new blogger's perspective.

The good

The good is everything I love about Medium. And there is a lot!

The community

I wasn’t even aware it was a community before I started writing here. And wow, it’s a great one! I haven’t been trolled one time in these six months (knock on wood) and I have met many great writers and people that I now proudly call friends. Who…
