It took me two years to write this; my very first Medium post. Why? And what do I expect to accomplish?

I have joined the Medium partner program, hardwired Stripe to my bank account and made sure it´s empty so there is room for all those Medium dollars…

…Irony.

I love Medium. For real. And I can prove it. I love Medium so much that the Medium app-icon on my iPhone has gotten one of those 4 exclusive places on my phone. You know, the place near the bottom of the screen, right there beside the phone-, message and safari icons.

At this point, you are probably wondering why I am rambling on about app icons. Did it only take him two paragraphs to get lost? Hold on please, wait for it...

My name is Tommy, and I am an app addict. I have hundreds of icons fighting for that one special spot, and none has de-throned it yet. The fact that Medium got it and not Candy Crush should prove my point.

I have been a Medium member for two years this February, but this is my first post. I have wanted to write since I joined, but one thing has held me back; I’m a Norwegian writer who writes geriatric whodunnits (in Norwegian). I read and write English understandably, but I am not good enough to write..well, good.
